Our Campaign

Resident’s concerns

Many disabled people have contacted our campaign team to highlight the accessibility challenges they face in Wells.

Listening to their concerns and suggestions we identified and are now working on delivering sixteen improvement projects and eight development projects, including:

  • Employment opportunities.
  • Dog fouling problems for wheelchair users and blind people
  • Insufficient or poorly located disabled parking
  • Lack of reasonable adjustments leaving some businesses inaccessible
  • Vehicles blocking pavements
  • Cafes obstructing access with chairs and tables
  • Advertising boards creating blockages
  • Provision of disabled toilet facilities
  • Bus stops not adapted for wheelchair access
  • Poor access to footpaths
  • Accessible sports

If you are interested in how we are tackling these issues, the progress we are making, have suggestions to make, or want to raise a concern, please feel free to explore this part of our website.
