The Wells Trishaw is a wonderful free community service for those who find it challenging to get out and enjoy Wells.  The duration and routes taken for each ride can be tailored to suit anyone’s interests.

Wells Trishaw has several volunteer pilots who are willing to take a person and an escort to aid them on their journey. The pilot’s role is to make your journey safe, interesting and fun. All the pilots have the ability to engage with their passengers to make every journey a pleasure.

A typical outing lasts around 45 minutes to an hour, around the city centre.  Pilots tend to pedal at walking pace, giving passengers a chance to look around and see Wells in a way that you might not have done before or for a long time. If planned, you could even stop off for coffee and cake or share a chat with friends you might not have seen for a while.

A number of easily accessible routes can take in all the major attractions – the Market Square and Town Hall, the Cathedral, Vicars Close, the Moat, Bishop’s Palace (as far as the Palace), the Bishop’s Barn, Recreation Ground, St. Cuthbert’s Church and City Centre.

The choice is yours, we can make recommendations, but most local routes are accessible, you would be surprised how many gaps the Tri-shaw can squeeze through.  The pilots have even taken passengers between the wedding, church and reception, and out on birthday treats, and all have said that they have had a great time, and it’s relaxing.

You can book a ride by calling the Wells Community Network on 01749 467079, giving a few basic details and they will do the rest, it’s as simple as riding a bike and it is a free community service.
